Glitched Space

Galeria Zielinsky is pleased to present a solo show by Guillermo Garcia Cruz (b. 1988, Montevideo, Uruguay). The exhibition consists of a selection of works that will be produced by the artist during the previous months to the exhibition, in a period of two months of residency in Barcelona. The works developed by the artist presents an investigation that takes as its starting point the relationship between a modernity project and its heritage or collapse. Working from the pictorial and sculptural field, the artist understand the pieces as an attempt to disorient the viewer’s perception and produce a noise affect, like as a temporary error or an “glitch”, term appropriated by the artist who comes from computer science.
