Swimming and reading club (workshop)
17:30h
Registration: via hello@barproject.net before 21 July.
Please bring: sunscreen, swimwear and swimming goggles.
Swimming and Reading Club is a workshop that opens up the methodology behind one of the processes accompanying the exhibition: underwater reading.
The workshop invites participants to enter the sea and collectively read excerpts from authors who have shaped the exhibition’s research—including val flores, Teresa of Ávila, Monique Wittig, Angela of Foligno and Audre Lorde—all connected through forms of writing that transform the wound into a place to swim, float and dive.
Through this shared practice, participants will explore what happens to body and text when they meet in the aquatic environment, when organs become rearranged, take on other forms, and breathing becomes part of the act of reading.
After the workshop, participants are invited to walk together to HAUS, Space for Art and Contemporary Practices at BAU, to visit the exhibition and enjoy some refreshments.
