From the Memory to the Creation

Proposal for a workshop inspired by “The poetics of space” by Gaston Bachelard, which focuses on the exploration of past spaces and the manifestation of a new “inner house” based on one’s own memories.

This workshop invites participants to explore the relationship between memory, imagination and physical spaces through practical and reflective activities. Participants will reflect on the spaces they have inhabited in the past and use these memories as a starting point to create a new and personal “inner house”. Participants will share memories of the space they have lived in in the past, such as their childhood home, student room, etc. Using free writing or drawings, participants will describe and represent these spaces, showing attention to detail and associated emotions. Through guided visualization, drawing, creative writing or even model building activities, everyone will shape this inner house, incorporating elements from past spaces and adding new elements that reflect their current aspirations and dreams.
