Meritxell Cañas (Barberà del Vallès, 1999). Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, her artistic practice explores the relationship between the digital and the physical, questioning how the virtual can acquire a body without losing its essence. From a critical perspective, shaped by her own experience of hyperconnectivity, she works with digital images that she translates into matter, turning the pixel into a crack and putting the precision of code in tension with the fragility of the manual gesture. Her work moves within a hybrid terrain, addressing issues such as surface, desire, precarity, and the construction of identity in the digital age. Over the past year, she has received the Art Jove Creació 2025 award, as well as the OSIC grant and the Guasch Coranty artistic production grant, and has developed part of her work at the Terracotta Ceramic Museum within the framework of the PAAC Prototips grant.
