Estéfana Román Matesanz (Vigo, 2000) lives and works between Bilbao and Basel.
She holds a BA in Fine Arts and an MA in Painting from the University of the Basque Country. In 2023, she was awarded the Fundación María José Jove Artistic Training Grant to pursue an MA in Art at HGK FHNW in Basel.
She participated in the Artistic Residency Programme (Reinosa, 2022) and has presented her work in group exhibitions at venues including Aire Galería (Bilbao, 2022), Juntas Generales de Bizkaia (Bilbao, 2023), Fundación Laxeiro (Vigo, 2023), Harriak (Salvatierra, 2023), Salon Mondial (Basel, 2024), Fluent (Santander, 2024), Kunstverein Freiburg (Freiburg, 2024), Kunsthaus Baselland (Basel, 2025), Van Abbehuis (Eindhoven, 2025), and KBCB Kunsthaus Biel (Biel/Bienne, 2026), as well as in a solo exhibition at AMORE (Basel, 2024).
