Elsa Estrella (Madrid, 1997) is an artist and researcher based in Berlin. Her practice — encompassing found objects, text, photography, drawing, and sculpture — investigates the imagery of cinema and how its cultural residues traverse the everyday.
Through display strategies and a deliberate use of scale, Estrella produces arrangements that function as scenes, demanding physical proximity and staging narrative as already interrupted — fragmented, displaced, prone to repetition.
She is currently conducting research at the Deutsche Kinemathek and the Marlene Dietrich Collection. Recent projects include Dog Talk, a curatorial collaboration with Lucía Ugena between Vienna and Berlin; Eyebag Privacy Muppet, a duo show with Kea Bolenz at Kilx, Berlin; and Ibiza, a curatorial project engaging the estates of Bruno Pelassy and Perla Zúñiga at Taon, Paris.
