Graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Cuba in 1989. He has enjoyed art residencies such as Hutchins Fellowships at Harvard University in 2015 and at the Mattress Factory Art Museum in Pittsburgh in 2010. His work is part of private and public collections such as the Museo Nacional de Artes de Cuba, The von Christierson Collection in London, The Shelley & Donald Rubin Collection, New York, NY, USA, The Peggy Crafitz Collection, Washington, DC, USA, Fundación AMBA, Brazil and the collection of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, Harvard University, USA.
