Cristina Cebrecos (Lima, Peru, 2001) lives and works in Barcelona. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, after beginning her artistic training at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where she completed four years in the Painting program. She is currently an artist in residence at Piramidón Centre d’Art Contemporani. Her work has been presented in exhibitions such as the Antoni Vila Casas Painting Prize 2025 at Museu Can Framis (Barcelona), EXPERIMENTO 003 at casa espacio (Barcelona), and El planeta, la vida, el amor y otras catástrofes at Galería del Paseo (Lima).
Her practice approaches painting as a space of thinking and a mode of knowledge production. Through an intuitive logic grounded in the everyday, her work brings the domestic into relation with broader structures, generating tensions between the sensitive and the systemic. Working through fragmentation as a method, her paintings articulate images through non-linear relations where multiple temporalities and layers of experience coexist. Within this framework, fluidity and heterogeneity operate as conditions that structure the production of meaning. Situated at the intersection of drawing and painting, her practice understands the image as a process in continuous becoming.
