Aura Roig (1994, Tortosa, ES) graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and completed the Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt in Berlin in 2025.
Through painting, Roig combines humour, conflict and personal experience within a magical realist universe in which bodies merge with objects and vegetables. Their work explores themes of care, gender and family roles, creating scenes where the domestic and the absurd coexist. By revealing the surreal dimensions of everyday life and inherited traditions, their paintings question established social structures and behavioural patterns.
Aura Roig’s work has been presented in exhibitions at Haus Coburg – Städtische Galerie, Delmenhorst; Galerie im Körnerpark, Berlin; Futur3: Wochen für Kunst und Diskurs, Kiel; Fight or Flight II at StadtWERKSTATT Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Berlin; Mèdol Centre d’Arts Contemporànies, Tarragona; Centre de Lectura, Reus; 101 Projectspace, Berlin; Lo Pati Centre d’Art, Amposta; Culterim Gallery, Berlin; and Museu de Tortosa, Tortosa.
Aura Roig currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
