(Barcelona, 1996)
Like a return to her roots, the work of the young artist Agnes Essonti Luque translates into a constant journey. Retracing her memories, she returns to them as a nourishing food that sustains her art and her life. Her existence takes on more meaning in those fragments that compose her, in that authentic mixture that forms her own being. With a solid academic background – Escola Massana, Kensington and Chelsea College, Blank Paper School of Photography and the Complutense University of Madrid – her line of work has focused on issues such as identity, race and ancestry. Her pieces are catalysts for a process that she sustains through media such as photography, video, performance and gastronomy in which she has found the possibility of recording, configuring and (re) constructing her own memories.
