Mercè Hernández Carbonell (Sitges, Catalunya. 1981) lives and works in Barcelona. Graduated in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona, she is currently studying for a Master’s in Artistic Production and Research. Specializing in painting, she has participated in group exhibitions in Catalonia and Germany.  Her work is essentially pictorial, where the process plays a determining role, understanding the painting as an interval of what is being produced, a pause shared with the viewer. The artist uses painting to grasp the passage of time, conceiving the pictorial practice as a cyclical process, alive and at the same time destructive; an ephemeral work made of enduring material. A work dominated by the color and organic shapes that remind us that every presence always affects another.
