Iacopo Pinelli (Gavardo, Italy, 1993) currently lives and works in Potenza Picena (MC). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata, where he graduated in Decoration (2018). His practice is primarily developed within sculpture and installation, focusing on the relationship between form, material, and space.
His work stems from the observation of the everyday, which nourishes and stimulates his artistic research. Through the decontextualization of everyday objects and materials, he activates metaphorical associations and shifts in meaning that create tension between the organic and the constructed. In this process, the artist engages with what is minimal and seemingly insignificant, restoring to it weight while revealing its poetic and symbolic charge.
He has held solo exhibitions such as Presenza Residua (Atterrage Gallery, Milan, 2026), Storie di alterazioni spaziali (Shazar Gallery, Naples, 2024), and Water Flows Down the Pipe (Elektrozavod Gallery, Moscow, 2024), as well as group exhibitions in Rome, Turin, and Madrid. He has also participated in international art fairs including Arte Fiera, Artsantander, Investec Cape Town Art Fair, and SWAB Barcelona, among others.
Pinelli was awarded the Acquisition and Residency Prize by Piramidón, Centre d’Art Contemporani at the By Invitation Barcelona fair. During his residency, the artist produced a body of work closely connected to the territory, forming the core of the exhibition presented as part of Art Nou.
